Eimsbush

Eimsbush was a Hamburg based Hip-Hop, Reggae, and Soul record label, founded by Jan Eißfeldt of Absolute Beginner.

The Name
The name Eimsbush was influenced by American neighborhood names in New York, such as Flatbush. Moreover, it refers to Eimsbüttel, a district in Hamburg.

History
Eimsbush was founded by Jan Eißfeldt in 1997, starting off with the first tape of which only a very limited amount was made. The first mixtape, "Dynamite Deluxe Demo", caused an enormous explosion of the German Hip-Hop boom of the nineties in Hamburg.
The label's most famous artist was "Dynamite Deluxe", who had big local success, nonetheless he was disbanded in 2000. Due to a row of obviously senseless actions like this one Eimsbush became insolvent three years later. Subsequently Samy Deluxe founded a new record label called Hamburgs Finest, which is the inofficial follower of Eimsbush.
