J. R. Writer

Rusty Junior Brito better known by his stage name J.R. Writer, is an American hip hop artist and member of The Diplomats. JR Writer is of Dominican descent. JR Writer has his own independent record label called Writer's Block Records.

Bio
JR Writer has stated many times that he has been rapping since he was 11 years old and he has been a Hip-Hop fan all his life. Brito started to pursue rapping after he last came home from jail at the age of 16. At this time JR would mostly freestyle and battle with other rappers around his neighborhood. By the time JR was 18 he had been introuduced to Juelz Santana one of the first members of The Diplomats and recorded a track with him called Squalie, that would go on to appear on Juelz Santana's debut album From Me To You. JR had also previously freestyled in front of Cam'Ron the founder of the Diplomats who told him once his record label was settled he would call him up. Staying true to his word once Cam'Ron heard JR's verse on Squalie he was impressed enough to contact Writer for a record deal, and a spot on the Dipset roster. Once all was ready to go Brito released his first mixtape at the age of 18, which was Writer's Block Pt.1. Since then JR has stayed loyal to Dipset but has had albums released under other record labels such as Koch Records, Asylum, and most recently Babygrande.
