EDUCANG

EDUCANG Limited was an initiative of the Anglican Church of Australia and the Uniting Church in Australia.
The word EDUCANG is composed of: ED from education, UC Uniting Church and ANG from the Anglican Church.
Directors of the Board were volunteers who were drawn exclusively from the two auspicing churches. EDUCANG originally owned and operated several colleges in south-east Queensland. This included Forest Lake College, Mary McConnel School, The FLC International Centre, The Lakes College and The Springfield College.
The Board claimed that this arrangement offered economies of scale which permitted low college fees.
The Uniting Church in Australia withdrew taking responsibility for The Lakes College at Mango Hill, and in October 2009, the Anglican Diocese of Brisbane took responsibility for Forest Lake College and The Springfield College.
On 4 November 2010, EDUCANG's name was changed to FSAC Ltd (Forest Lake & Springfield Anglican Colleges). This new entity renamed the colleges - St John's Anglican College and The Springfield Anglican College. Rebranding would commence immediately with the names to officially take effect on 1 January 2011.
