East Sussex Dance

East Sussex Dance Ltd. is a dance school with branches in Lewes and Brighton, and has a vision of making dance accessible to people of all ages across Sussex.

The school's director is Alex Skinner, a professional competitor and qualified teacher who has lectured for the ISTD. She is a teacher who is passionate about building a strong dance community in Sussex, especially in order to promote fitness, friendship and fun.
History
Formed in 2008 with the support of close friends and family, East Sussex Dance has been a community focused project from the very beginning. A handful of small classes were started in Patcham and Lewes which grew steadily over the following months, resulting in relocation to larger premises.
Initially, ISTD teacher Alex Skinner taught Disco, Street dance and Ballroom and Latin Dancing, but she soon started introducing other disciplines such as Ballet and Jazz Dance. Before long, the school was growing rapidly with several advanced students actively assisting in beginners classes.
The school has since had many successes at regional and national competitions, with many students aspiring to dance professionally or enter other areas of the performing arts.
