E.S.Poyser and Sons was a jewellery retailer based in Nottingham, England. In 1869 Edward Samuel Poyser set up a retail business in Nottingham (incorporated in 1903 as E.S. Poyser & Sons, Limited). It passed in turn down his family line, to three further E.S Poysers - his son Edward Stanley Poyser, then his son Eric Stanley Poyser and finally to Edward Stephen Poyser, great grandson of the founder Edward Samuel Poyser. For much of the twentieth century, the companies had many branches throughout the East Midlands, though the business suffered, along with other retail jewellers, during the Wars of 1914-18 and 1939-1945. Eric Stanley Poyser ran a firm of up to eight retail jewellery outlets trading in Mansfield, Derby, Leicester and Northampton, with many shops in Nottingham. He was elected President of the the British National Association of Goldsmiths and was later President of CIBJO. In 2005, Edward Stephen Poyser, then running the fourth generation family business trading as 'Poyser Jeweller' in Nottingham's Victoria Centre, finally sold the retail outlets.
