Dust Bowl Theater is currently an abandoned building on 306 and 308 North Main Street of Eloy, Arizona. It serves as a landmark and a reminder to a long history of Eloy's entertainment area. History Formerly known as The Eloy Theater, it opened back in 1941 with 675 seats, 10 of which were located in the balcony. By 1950 it was renamed to Dust Bowl Theater. It was operated by a local merchant but he lost the property due to health and personal reasons. In the late 1990s and early 2000s it was owned by Eloy Ministerial Alliance and they were working on some remodeling but it stopped due to lack of funds. This was the last time the building was remembered to be in good shape. Current state The Dust Bowl Theater remains unoccupied and abandoned. It fell into tax problems and has been taken over by the county. There are currently no theater equipment in the building and the only reminder of its past are the theater chairs. Manuel Salas of Eloy Ministerial Alliance described the building as "stepping into a bird case that had not been cleaned out in quite a while".
