Dominik Hofbauer (born 6 April, 1990 in Styria, Austria) is a professional footballer who currently plays for Aston Villa in the FA Premier League, as a midfielder. The FA Premier League is an English fully professional league for association football clubs. At the top of the English football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. However, Hofbauer has yet to make an appearance in the Premier League. Club career Hofbauer signed a 2-year contract with Aston Villa in June 2007, along with fellow countryman Andreas Weimann, following a successful trial period. Hofbauer has 8 Austrian caps to his name; 4 for the U17 team (and one goal) and 4 caps for the U18 team. He is regarded as a player of great promise - so much so that former club SK Sturm Graz faced a huge struggle to keep him from several potential buyers from all across Europe. He has shown glimpses of this talent for the Academy already, adapting to the English game with his strong, aggressive and direct nature.
