Domain dominance

Domain dominance strategy refers to the search engine optimization method of leveraging existing websites' authority for ranking your own content. The term was first coined by Eugene Farber of Content Strategy Hub.
The strategy is based on the theory that search engines like Google favor websites that they view as "authoritative". A measure of "domain authority" was introduced by Moz. However, in this case domain authority refers to the general standing of a website; not necessarily the specific measure provided by Moz.
The fact that many of the rankings are for non-self-hosted domains is a common objection to the Domain Dominance Strategy. The counter-argument to the object is the fact that businesses can still rank and gain exposure through rankings even if the page is not self-hosted. This SEO method also allows you to rank multiple pages (self-hosted and not) for the same keywords.
