Doe Deere

Doe Deere (also Xenia, born June 15, 1981) is a blogger, makeup artist, musician and model, originally from Izhevsk, Russia, now living in New York City. Deere is also the founder of Lime Crime Cosmetics, a makeup brand that sells eyeshadows and lipsticks, and the main writer behind Doe Deere Blogazine. She has also released one album, "Supernatural."
Deere's Lime Crime Cosmetics are sold in Bloomingdale's, SpaceNK, Modcloth, and other large retailers in the United Kingdom and United States. Lime Crime Cosmetics has been commented on in Elle UK, MTV's Buzzworthy Blog and New York Magazine . During Deere's brief music career, she was reviewed on PopJustice, indie-music.com and other websites. Her songs were also played on Z100, a New York radio station. She has appeared on the cover of Auxiliary Magazine and been interviewed in multiple fashion blogs and podcasts.
Early career
Doe Deere, then Kseniya Vorotova, moved to the United States in her teens. At the time, she was the only one in her family fluent in English, due to listening to American music, like Michael Jackson and Nirvana. On moving to the US she began going by Xenia.
In 2003, Deere ran a small eBay clothing company called Thunderwear. In 2004, the brand name changed Lime Crime. She also founded "Little Big Girls," an online community and livejournal for eBay clothing sellers..
Deere began posting makeup tutorials on her website in 2004. In 2005 she joined Model Mayhem. This growing exposure, positive reactions to her makeup tutorials led to freelance work, doing makeup for photo shoots and the like.
Lime Crime, as a clothing company, went out of business in 2006. In 2008, it was revived as a makeup label, specializing in bright, highly pigmented eyeshadows and lipsticks.
Influences
Deere cites David Bowie, Björk and Andy Warhol as great influences on her fashion sense.. She has also expressed admiration for fashion designers Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and makeup entrepreneur Poppy King. In one post, she stated that "It seems counter-intuitive, but the more influences you have, the better the chance of you creating something truly unique."
Personal life
Doe Deere has one sister, Kat. She never met her biological father.
Doe Deere married her long-time boyfriend on September 22, 2006.
