DistantStarr

DistantStarr born Donnell Michael Jones on February 28, 1983 in New York City, NY is a New Jersey-based rapper and music producer. He is best known as one half of the group "M.A.G.R." with partner Al Mighty (Albert Harden). He not only created a name for himself at a young age by collaborating with tons of artists overseas but also gained popularity in the states by opening for and performing alongside a list of well known artists in the states including Redman, BuckShot (BlackMoon), Pharoahe Monch, Souls of Mischief and many more. "Starr" as he is called often, has also featured on numerous online radio shows including BTS Radio in California, and Amp Soul Generation on Samurai FM with friend Jay Scarlett of Munich, Germany. He also later collaborated with Jay Scarlett and at the time California based RnB/ Future Soul singer and producer Reggie B, on Reeboks "Future Sounds for my Classic Generation" album. DistantStarr has also had the chance to work with Swedish Soul singer Kissey Asplund, and european future producers Mike Slott and Hudson Mohawke (Heralds of Change). Music featuring DistantStarr has been placed on numerous radio and cd mixes including freshselect.net (Bling47) and Frolab (DJ Jamad of the Aphilliates).
Currently Starr is working on "The No Sleep Project", an idea conceived by him and Lyon, France based music producer Le N?ko, to create a group in which they called StarrSkream. This is set for release in 2009. Also M.A.G.R. plans on releasing the completed and long overdue "No News is Good News" album featuring Blu (Johnson and Jonson, Blu and Exile) and production from Hudson Mohawke and Fel Sweetenberg in 2009. He is also working on his solo project, as of yet untitled, and an untitled project with friends 2ew Gunn Ciz (Courtney Carroll) of Philadelphia and Big Hank (Steve Leevy) of Camden, NJ for their group SoS.
