Hello My Name Is Records

Hello My Name Is Records is a small indie label based out of an even smaller studio apartment in Los Angeles, CA (Los Feliz/Silverlake). Initially started in Boston for the sole purpose of releasing a 7" by the band The Rise Park, a solo project from musician turned producer Matt Squire. Hello My Name Is Records remained dormant for five years, when in 2007 the label owner had an opportunity to release an EP from childhood friends making-up the Brooklyn based band The Anthem Sound. After moving at a snail's pace, the label kicked-into gear and began releasing several one-offs by bands from all genres. By 2009, HMNI built a small roster of artists, as well as forming a coalition of affiliated labels, partnering with them as a label/distribution support system. The label remains in its early stages of development, continuing to progress at a steady pace.
History
The Origin
In 2002, Hello My Name Is Records was created by Zachary Nadile out of an apartment in Boston, MA. Originally created solely for the purpose of releasing his roommate’s solo project called The Rise Park, the first release was a 7” titled Long Winded Let Down. Before a full-length could be created, the brain-child of The Rise Park moved on to explore a successful career as a music producer.
Hello My Name Is Records or HMNI for short (pronounced Him’Nee), remained dormant for 5 years, when the opportunity arose to release an EP from a Brooklyn based band called The Anthem Sound, made up of childhood friends. The Anthem Sound’s 4 Songs EP was released in conjunction with Eyeball Records and helped kick-start Hello My Name Is Records back into existence as a fully functioning label.
Distribution
In 2008 HMNI signed distribution deals with ADA and Revelation. Operating out of a small studio apartment in the LA neighborhood of Los Feliz, Hello My Name Is Records began developing its roster with such artists as Carrigan, The Control Group and Asphalt Thieves.
Affiliates
In addition to putting out original recordings, HMNI also partners with select labels, acting as their distribution/label support system. Currently, their active affiliates include Fiddler Records, Paper Tiger and 4Never.
