Pandit Dinkar Panshikar (born: 1936) is an Indian Hindustani classical singer from the Jaipur-Atrauli gharana. He is recognized for his revival, reinterpretation, and creations of many compositions, and techniques. Early Learning He spent over 10 years studying the intricacies of the Jaipur Atrauli Gharana under Pt. Nivruttibua Sarnaik, a disciple of Gharana founder Ustad Alladiya Khan . Legacy Known as a musician and a music scholar, Pt. Dinkar Panshikar has created more than 200 compositions, many of which are set to the rarely performed Ada chowtal. He was one of the teacher in well-known classical music institution ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata. He was accompanied by tabla mastro Pt.Samar Saha. He still performes in various classical music programms . Bhupal Panshikar is a young promising vocalist of his generation. He is the son of Pt. Dinkar Panshikar.
