Derek Woodgate

Derek Woodgate is a British born consulting futurist, author, speaker and innovator, who as President of The Futures lab Inc. and international foresight consultancy, founded in 1996, specializes in delivering future potential for major corporations and institutions, especially in the areas of entertainment, media and communications.
Derek Woodgate is an authority on the application of emerging and immersive technologies and the changing human in the design and production of experiential entertainment with his creation of what he terms "Sense Events".Italic text.
Derek Woodgate is also involved in the integration of the creative industries into urban/community development; future living spaces and his work on remix lifestyles in terms of changing archetypes, behavior and identity, which he covered in his reworking of Maslow's Heirachy of Needs.
In the foresight world Derek Woodgate is known for developing what is considered a paradigm-shifting approach to future Studies(Innovation RoadMap Magazine - May 12, 2005) as demonstrated in his book Future Frequencies Italic text(Fringecore 2004) )"the creative bridging of progressive culture's provocative thinking and practical business innovations".(Oliver W. Markley -Author 21st Century Earth). As well as his work on dystopian Futures and rhyzomatic thinking techniques.
Since 2006, Derek Woodgate has served as the Chief Creative Officer of Plutopia Productions, Inc. - a future-focused entertainment and event production company. Derek Woodgate has designed, themed and curated public events including The Science of Music, The Future of the Home, The Future of Sustainable Living, Future Living Systems,The Future of Play, The Future of Imaginations, FutureMusic Summit 2012.
In 2012 Derek Woodgate joined the Board of Ultra Agent Industries based in Victoria Canada. He served for 6 years on the Board of the Association of Professional Futurists and is the Ex-President of the Central Texas Chapter of the World Futures Society.
