Deborah Gail Stone (June 18, 1956 - July 8, 1974) was an employee at Disneyland who died at America Sings. Biography Beginning 1956-1973 Deborah Gail Stone was born to Bill and Marilyn Stone on June 18, 1956. She was the eldest child and the only daughter of Bill and Marilyn Stone. During her early years she was very outgoing as she would go out in the neighborhood and bring her friends and ask her parents to give her a cookie. She was also athletic as well. She got the top 10 percentile in her class and also received the Principal's award for her abilities that she could do. She would be enrolling Iowa State University and it would cost a lot of money for her college and her home, so she enrolled for a job which is at Disneyland and Marilyn agreed because it would be good for a summer job. In the early time at summer, she had received a call from Disneyland and got a job. Disneyland time 1974 When she got her job, America Sings just started began its operation during that time. She was a welcomer to America Sings at that time where people that is going to enter the America Sings is gonna be seated. Death and aftermath Suddenly one night, she was standing at a position at America Sings. Around 10:35-10:40 P.M., she was killed by a solid wall between and died 20 minutes later. After that, her parents attempted to sue Disney for her death, (not for money) and resulted in a small settlement. The ride closed for at least 2 days to add safety lights and change solid walls to breakaway walls. The stage where she died is closed for a year. Marilyn had said that an employee from Disney had visited her house. Today, the Santa Ana High School Pool was renamed and named after her and also raised a plaque honoring her, and also hands out the Deborah Gail Stone award for outstanding students in her accolade.
