David R. Meiswinkle (born February 7, 1950) is a former police officer from New Brunswick, New Jersey who is an Independent candidate for Governor in the New Jersey gubernatorial election, 2009, running on a theme of "Middle Class Empowerment." Meiswinkle was a soldier in the United States Army, a New Brunswick police officer for 23 years, and currently works as an attorney at his office in New Brunswick.
