Sham Prasad Kesar

Sham Prasad Kesar (born February 17, 1946) is a member of Jammu and Kashmir State Committee of Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Regional Secretary of Jammu regional committee of Communist Party of India (Marxist). He is a senior leader of Centre Of Indian Trade Unions.
Early life and career
He was a lecturer of political science.He has been awarded with State Best Teacher award.
Political leader
Sham Prasad Kesar is a prominent leader of CPI (M) in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, India. In several socio-political issues, he has taken the leadership of protest marches and demanding justice to common man. Some of the political struggles and demonstrations, in which he has taken the lead or participated are :
* Demanding Government of India to hand over management of all Hydro-electrical power projects to Jammu and Kashmir State Government.
* Protested against disinvestment and sale of public assets.
* Led protest march on 19 July 2011 against price hike and alleged corruption in Jammu and Kashmir Government.
