Daughter of Princess Madeleine

The daughter of Princess Madeleine of Sweden and her husband, Christopher O'Neill, was born in New York's Weill Cornell Medical Center on 20 February 2014. The daughter was born in New York, USA where the couple are residing. Her father was present for the duration of the birth. She is the second Bernadotte child to be born within the new millenium after the birth of her cousin, Princess Estelle, in 2012. In Stockholm, 21-gun salute was fired celebrating the birth of Princess Madeleine's daughter. A Te Deum (praise) thanksgiving service will be held in the Royal Chapel at Stockholm Palace on Sunday 2 March 2014. The girl has by birth the right to become both a U.S. citizen and Swedish citizen. To be eligible to ascend the throne of Sweden, she must be brought up as a member of the Church of Sweden and reside in Sweden during her upbringing.
