Misee Harris

Misee Harris (born October 18, 1984) is an American model, pediatric and sports dentist, philanthropist, humanitarian and motivational speaker who launched a nationwide social media campaign to be America’s first Black Bachelorette. Harris turned down an opportunity to be a contestant on ABC's show so that she wouldn’t be labeled as the "token black girl," and focused on being America’s first Black Bachelorette in order to inspire other black girls to set high goals.
Early life and education
Born in Columbia, Tennessee, Harris credits her mother for all of her accomplishments. Harris stated in an interview that her mother, more than anyone, has inspired her and is the epitome of a super mom. A graduate from Columbia Central High School in Tennessee, Harris landed a job working as an assistant for her pediatric dentist at age 16.
Harris obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Tennessee in 2006. She earned a Doctorate of Dental Medicine Degree from the University Of Kentucky College Of Dentistry.
Career
Harris works as a pediatric dentist, making medical mission trips to provide children with dental care, mentoring young women and working with autism-<nowiki/>related charities.
In 2013, Harris founded “Dr. Misee Harris Project Smile” a non-profit organization that promotes pediatric dentistry and oral hygiene. She also founded Project Prom, which provides prom dresses for high school seniors throughout the country who cannot afford to attend their senior prom.
As of 2014, she was in the research on the design stage for patenting mouthguards for professional athletes.
Misee serves as a model and spokesperson for World Hair Extensions and DKNY. She is an animal activist who helps to find adoptive homes for dogs.
Activism and charity work
Harris has worked with and sponsored a variety of organizations benefiting autistic children, including Special Needs Network Los Angeles.

Harris has made special guest appearances on television and radio shows such as Huffington Post Live, Showbiz Tonight with AJ Hammer, Tom Joyner Morning Show, Sirius XM Radio Tour, and WKRN ABC Nashville. She has also been featured in some media outlets such as AOL, The Grio.com, Wet Paint.com, VibeVixen.com, Uptown Magazine, Madame Noire, and Jezebel Magazine.
