Danny Reisch is an American musician, audio engineer, and record producer. He is the owner and operator of the Good Danny's recording studio in Austin, Texas, where he lives and works. Reisch started his professional musical career in 1999, as an intern at Sumet Bernet Sound Studios in Dallas, Texas, serving as a tape operator and assisting on dozens of records. As a student at Texas State University School of Music in 2004, Reisch was a founding member of Austin-based band The Lemurs, playing the drums. The band released a self-titled EP in 2006. Their last known performance was 2010. (Lemur bandleader Mitch Billeaud would later tour alongside Reisch in Shearwater for 2012's Animal Joy.) Meanwhile, Reisch continued working in engineering and producing records and in 2006 founded the Good Danny's Recording Studio. The studio served as Daytrotter's recording studio for the SXSW music festival in 2014. Reisch was recognized by the Austin Chronicle as the best record producer in Austin in 2010, and his studio as the best "Grand Slam" studio in Austin in 2014. In early 2015, Austin arts collective Potluck Arts & Music published a video documentary about Reisch and the studio. Reisch currently drums for Other Lives. He has drummed for Shearwater on tour since 2012, and played on studio albums Animal Joy and Fellow Travelers.
