Dank memes tend to be shared among individuals via the internet. Typical places to share dank memes include Reddit or somewhere more private such as Skype. The point of dank memes is generally to make the consumer of the dank memes laugh or invoke some other kind of reaction.
Importance
An important component of dank memes is how quickly they change. Dank memes will often show the quick changes in cultural during the age of the internet.
Differences between meme types
Memes are usually the similar or exact same picture or caption as a Dank Meme, but they are not used ironically. They do however have either a funny or witty comment and picture. Again, Dank Memes are usually used ironically, and this is the main difference between a Dank Meme and a normal Meme.
