Dan Williamson

Dan Williamson is an American Sportscaster, currently based out of Bismarck, North Dakota where he holds the title of Sports Anchor/Director at KXMB-TV.
Williamson is a native of Minnesota and grew up in the Alexandria area. In 2002, he graduated with a bachelor of science degree at St. Cloud State University. Between high school and graduation, he participated in three separate internships and after graduation; he was hired by one of those stations, KSAX-TV (ABC), in Alexandria. Williamson began as a news reporter, but quickly worked his way up to the 10:00 p.m. Anchor spot and at the age of 23, he was one of the youngest people in the country to hold that job title. Williamson always wanted to transition into sports and despite being on the 'news side,' he also anchored the station's weekly 'Sports Beat' segment. In 2004, Dan Williamson was the producer and anchor when 'Sports Beat' became the station's first ever LIVE 30-minute show, running from September 2004 until March 2005. Dan left KSAX in the summer of 2005.
In September 2005, Dan began as the Weekend Sports Anchor at KXMB-TV (CBS) in Bismarck, North Dakota. He also co-announced football telecasts and co-hosted a Friday Night highlight show called 'In the Locker Room.'
In 2006, Williamson was recognized with 'Awards of Merit' by the Northwest Broadcast News Association and the North Dakota Associated Press for his work. The NBNA Award was for 'Best Feature Story' while the NDAP Award was for 'Best Sportscast.'
In 2007, Williamson was promoted to 'Sports Director/Anchor,' and continues to hold that position.
In 2009, Williamson was recognized with another 'Award of Merit' by the NDAP for 'Best Feature Story.'
