Dan Richardson

Daniel Joseph Richardson (born in 1958 in London) is an English writer and journalist.
Dan Richardson went to Lancaster University and holds BA (Hons.) in International Relations & Strategic Studies (1984).
Since 1984 he has researched, written and regularly updated travel guides for Britain’s best-known guidebook series, the Rough Guides (published by Penguin).
His books on Egypt, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, St Petersburg, Moscow, Budapest and Dublin have been translated into Spanish, Italian, Polish, Czech and (most recently) Russian.
His first article - about the cocaine trade in Peru - appeared in the Times in 1980.
He has also written travel articles which appeared in the Times, Independent and Daily Telegraph newspapers and Business Traveller magazine.
He is the grandson of Stella Gibbons, author of Cold Comfort Farm.
