Dallas W. Anderson

Dallas W. Anderson is a businessman who founded MicroMed Technology Inc. in 1995, and in 1996 was granted exclusive rights to the NASA/DeBakey VAD.
Anderson worked with Dr. Michael E. DeBakey and Dr. George P. Noon to further develop the pump and bring the device to the public. Clinical trials began in Europe in November 1998 for the MicroMed DeBakey VAD. The MicroMed DeBakey VAD is an axial-flow ventricular assist device and is known as a second-generation LVAD.
In 2005, MicroMed Technology Inc. went public through a reverse merger with Salmon Express Inc. on the OTC Bulletin Board as a penny stock. As a result, the company was renamed MicroMed Cardiovascular Inc. However, in 2008 the company became a private company once again after a reverse split of the company stock by Rodger Ford and David Mackstaller of SynCardia Systems Inc.
MicroMed Cardiovascular, Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June 2013.
Former members of MicroMed Cardiovascular, Inc. founded ReliantHeart Inc. in August 2013. ReliantHeart Inc. became successor-in-interest to the assets of MicroMed Cardiovascular, Inc.
