D. H. Joglekar (born Damodar Hari Joglekar, 16 November 1920, Pune, India - 1 December 1999) was an Indian violinist. Joglekar was highly qualified in Hindustani Music - he was a Sangeet Visharad from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai, a Sangeet Pravin from Maharashtra Sangeet Vidyalaya, Mumbai - he was a disciple of Shankar Bhayya of Pune in Tabla and he studied the Western Staff Notation in Violin under the guidance of Anthony Gonsalves. He was a prominent violinist who has to his credit the introduction of a new way of tuning the violin which did not require the violinists to tune their violin to match the base note of any singer. This new system was based on the western method (the GDAE tuning of strings). Joglekar was the first Indian violinist to have undergone rigorous training in western notation from Anthony Gonsalves. Joglekar was the Vice Principal of Gandharva Mahavidyalaya for 5 years from 1941. He was Instrumental Professor at the Ajmer Music College. He was the member of the Government Concert Party that toured Egypt, Palestine and Syria for the entertainment of troops in 1941-42. He worked as a Violinist with All India Radio between 1949-52 - He was also a Music Teacher in Rammohan High School, Sardar High School, and Modern High School - he was a violinist for tape recording in All India Radio light music department Mumbai. Joglekar assisted popular yesteryear Music Directors of Bollywood for 20 years like C.Ramchandra, S.D. Burman, etc., to script the staff notations of their compositions from which it was easy to the other violin players to be playing the same composition with perfection. Joglekar is the author of the book 'Violin Athava Bela Shastra' which covers six volumes - two of which have been printed. Publication Rights of this book are with his son Shekhar Joglekar of Thane.
