History
Internet entrepreneur Darren Fell was approached by two friends in 2007; an owner of a web agency (Drew Griffith) and an accountant (Steve Crouch) who had run a Chartered Accountancy practice since 1991.
The software development behind the main Crunch 'system' took roughly 2 years to build in J2EE.

In June 2009, Fell was invited to speak on Chris Evans’ BBC Radio 2 Drivetime show about Crunch. The audience was around five million people .
At this point Crunch attempted to evolve their software to offer of an "easy-to-use online system with unlimited advice from accountancy experts" with the claim that they were the "1st integrated accountancy service"
