Cross.tv is a global, multi-media, social web community and on-demand WebTV platform and streaming solutions provider. Cross.tv is a social media network that centers on the Christian religion. History cross.tv is a product of the Cross Media Group, a company with offices in Charlotte, NC, USA; Vienna, Austria; and Bratislava. Cross Media Group was created in 2008 as a result of a merger between several smaller businesses working within the faith based community. The group includes a translation house, a media agency, a video production company and a web development branch. The cross.tv branch of the Cross Media Group is headquartered in Charlotte, NC and owned by the Cross Media Group. cross.tv originated as a video streaming platform for religious broadcasters, but quickly grew to one of the leading faith based social networks. Being introduced to faith based media professionals at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention in 2008, the site started out as a publicly accessible test environment for the developers. In February 2008, thirty test users from two evangelical churches in Austria were invited to give feedback during the initial development phase. The site grew silently to about 5,000 members by October 2008 and was introduced to a wider public in November 2008 after it's official launch. The site grew rapidly to over 200,000 members within the first three months. The site is currently in the Beta phase. The Founders The Cross Media Group was founded by Stefan Jager and Andreas Kisslinger. Stefan Jager is of Austrian heritage and lives in Vienna, Austria. He has started and sold several successful internet companies since 2005. Andreas Kisslinger, also of Austrian heritage, is a tv host, public speaker, and media producer living in Vienna, Austria. The Website The site is translated into 30 languages and is considered a crossover global community. cross.tv combines social networking tools with HD streaming and a multilingual communications platform. It is the first faith-based social media community in the world to support multilingual interaction and communication. cross.tv is otherwise known as the "Space-Book-Flick-Tube" and offers video sharing and streaming, photo sharing, blogging, the generation of friend fan-bases, and updates on emotion utilizing an 'e.motion picture', a photo offered by cross.tv to help exhibit one's mood. One of its unique features is the back grounddesigner, enabling users to create their own design of cross.tv and their own pages intuitively through an interactive Flash application. A dedicated online content monitoring team ensures cross.tv offers a safe and clean community that can be accessed by all ages. The company does screen all uploaded content to create a family-friendly atmosphere. Demographics cross.tv has reached countries such as Ecuador, Cote d'Ivoire, Nicaragua, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia and others. It's strongest user bases are located throughout Russia, Ukraine, Germany, India, Indonesia, French speaking Africa and major Spanish language countries, such as Mexico, Argentina and Venezuela.
