Cortez de la Sierra is a musical group formed somewhere October and November 2003 by Eddie (Jr,) Olivares. Their music falls into the regional Mexican category and they were the first Duranguense band out of the stare of Florida. Their first album "Duranguense 100%" was a great success, under Univision music label. Their hit single "chikitikipum" obtained decent airplay in most radio markets in the United States and Mexico, As well as getting a short lived position on the Billboard top 200 hit with "Chikitikipum" which they performed on many Spanish television shows like Univision's Despierta america, Desayuno Alegre among others and Telefutura's Escandalo TV.
Their second album "La sensacion de la musica Duranguesnse" was a moderate success in their home base area of central Florida but failed to get the attention as their first album, which to this day is still active as a great album.
