CoolJunkie.com is a nightlife website. Created by Nick McCabe and Sarah Lynn Dawson, CoolJunkie was launched in South Beach, Miami in November 2000, and in New York City in June 2002. The website was named "Second-Best Local Website" award in the Miami New Times Best of 2002 Awards. The site was nominated for 'Best Website' at the 2004 DanceStar USA Awards. The CoolJunkie DJ Spin Off was launched in summer 2001 as a way to expose and support local DJ talent. The contest was described as the "American Idol for DJs" by the New Times Broward-Palm Beach. In 2002, CoolJunkie.com partnered with the UK's BBC Radio 1 to present the dance music event 'One Live In Miami' at the Opium Garden nightclub in Miami during the Winter Music Conference, which was broadcast live to 6 million people in the UK.
