Noreen Khan

Noreen Khan better known as 'Noreen' is a Radio DJ on BBC Asian Network and presents the weekly Asian Network Chart which airs every Saturday from 12-2pm.

Originally from Bedfordshire, England, Noreen’s interest in music started at a young age when she took up playing the violin aged 9, then the oboe and also went onto playing tenor in the steel band for 6 years. In 2006, Noreen played keyboards with British Asian fusion band, Sonik Gurus playing at various clubs in and around London and toured with the band completing a 7 city tour of Mexico including playing at Cervantino International Festival, Central America’s largest music festival.

Due to her passion for music, in 2003 she decided to pursue a career in radio and started volunteering in her local hospital. This lead to a break, landing a weekend music show on a newly launched London based Asian digital station. Soon after that stint, Noreen joined London’s Club Asia and hosted various music shows including weekend breakfast.

In June 2007, Noreen was poached by BBC Asian Network to host the Asian Network Chart and now is a regular stand in presenter for Adil Ray and Nikki Bedi on the station.
