Click4Carbon is a search engine powered by Google search that helps people cut their carbon footprint. In addition to a searchable database, it also offers research tools and an online discussion forum. Competitors include Treehoo, everyclick.com and Ecocho. Click4Carbon obtains data from the World Resources Institute and the US-based Environmental Protection Agency. In October 2008, Click4Carbon along with Sky News published the findings of a joint research that suggests that the current financial crisis might be good for the environment as people tend to economise and reduce bills. Carbon neutrality To ensure that Click4Carbon is carbon-neutral, Click4Carbon aims to offset its carbon footprint through various channels. This includes the energy used to power its web servers.
