ClearOne Badminton

ClearOne Badminton is a company located in Richmond, B.C. which provides a variety if badminton services including playing centres, tournaments, special events, specialized training and strategic sports consulting.

ClearOne was founded in 2003 by Darryl Yung, who is currently the Head Coach and CEO of the organization. The Company began as a 6-court badminton facility off number 3 road in Richmond, BC and was the first of it's kind in Western Canada.
ClearOne opened a second centre in 2005, named ClearTwo at a nearby location. ClearTwo has an additional 12 courts and one VIP playing room in the back corner with specialized flooring. The ClearOne operation has produced over 24 national junior and senior titles since it's inception.

ClearOne has an array of international coaches and Olympic level athletes including Darryl Yung, Bobby Milroy, Ronny Runtalao, Sandiarto, Jo Novita, Jackie Ruan, Peter Huang and Cindy Peng.
Bobby Milroy, President of ClearOne, has stated that the coaching staff intends to challenge the Canadian National Team in the coming years to a Thomas Cup and Sudirman Cup-style competition.

ClearOne hosted the 2004 Canadian National Championships at the C2 location. The event was covered by Fairchild Media and Shaw Media. Four ClearOne players won medals at the games.

ClearOne is the official organizer of the 2010 Yonex Sunrise Canadian Open at the Richmond Olympic Oval. The event is a Grand Prix tournament, making it the largest money event in Canadian history and the highest level event since the 1985 World Championships in Calgary, Alberta.

The COBA was founded in 2009 by Darryl Yung and Bobby Milroy to establish an international training regime in Canada, modelled after the Asian training model.
Athletes have supervised training 24 hours per week and are serviced by 5 different coaches over 11 different training sessions.
At the 2009 National Championships, COBA won 9 medals placing ahead of the provinces of Ontario, Alberta and Quebec.
