Civil War Rust

Civil War Rust is a Punk Rock band based out of the East Bay Area of Northern California. The band has released two full length records Help Wanted and The Fun and The Lonely.
History
Civil War Rust was formed in Oakley, California in 2004 by Ryan Banks (Guitar/Vocals), Zach Morgensen (Bass/Vocals) and Chris Robertson (Drums). After their first few shows and first demo (Uncut, 2004) Chris Robertson left the band and was replaced by former Bloodstool drummer Alex Welch. With Alex the band quickly gained a "cult" like party following as they played all over the East Bay at house parties and small DIY venues during their first few years. In 2009 Alex was replaced by Static Thought drummer Drew Cueva. Rudy Ponce of Omissa also joined the band at this time as a second guitar player. This line up would record the ep, The Right To Remain Silent at Nu-Tone Studios in Pittsburg, California with producer Riki Feldman. Just prior to releasing, The Right To Remain Silent Zach Morgensen left the band and was replaced by Sean Stepp.
The Good Book and The Fun & The Lonely
The Right To Remain Silent was self released in 2010 while the band finished working on songs for their release. With Sean now taking on bass and vocals the band headed into Sharkbite Studios in Oakland to record The Good Book. The project was engineered by Ryan Massey of American Steel and went on to be released online by Death To False Hope Records.
The band released their first full length record The Fun & The Lonely in March of 2012. The record was engineered by Willie Samuels of The Influents and recorded at Nu-Tone Studios. The album was first released by All For Hope Records and later on vinyl by La Escalera Records, Say-10 Records, and Solidarity Recordings. After touring the west coast Rudy Ponce left the band and was replaced by guitarist Chris Taravella in late 2012.
Help Wanted
The bands second full length record Help Wanted was recorded and produced by Willie Samuels at both Studio Trilogy in San Francisco and Nutone Studios in Pittsburg. It was released in November of 2015 by Say-10 Records and Def Cow Records.
