The Great Explainer is an American punk/post-hardcore band based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Asbury Park, New Jersey. The current line-up is Sean Bystrzycki on guitar and vocals, Nick Rosica on bass, Brian Manser on guitar and Zach Miller on drums. History The Great Explainer was formed in 2008 by Sean Bystrzycki and Nick Rosica, along with original members Matt Vaneekhoven on guitar and vocals and Greg Karlowistch on drums. This lineup released its first EP, entitled "The Way Things Swell" on Chunksaah Records in 2010. In 2011, Greg joined Luther and was replaced by Zach Miller on drums. In 2012, Matt left the band and was replaced by Brian Manser on guitar. In 2013, it was announced that the band's debut full length, Medicine Shield will be available through Panic State Records early 2014.
