Christmas grotto

Santa's grotto typically takes the form of an enclosed fantasy style structure whose purpose is to allow children to visit him and is normally located within or near a commercial retail centre such as a shopping mall or garden centre. They serve the purpose of increasing footfall and adding to the shopping experience. Grottos are built in a number structural formats including enclosed, open, inside a shop unit and outdoors. The decorative plan usually matches those seen in films with themes such as Santa's workshop and Lapland. Some large grottos feature more than one Santa chamber and a 3D cinema screen. Professional grotto build companies are available as are professional grotto management suppliers. Christmas grottos open from November 1. Children usually spend several minutes with Santa, receive a present and the opportunity for photos. These photos can be purchased upon exiting the grotto, normally in a variety of packages. See Also
