Centro Gran Caribe

Centro Gran Caribe is an enclosed shopping mall located in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico
History
Centro Gran Caribe, originally called Plaza Caribe Mall, opened its doors in November 19 1987, with aprox. 50 stores, plus junior anchors Capri and Amigo Supermarkets, as well as several restaurants and offices.
In November 23 1999 Centro Gran Caribe opened its expansion, which was joined to the original north side by a bridge that crossed PR-676 and joined the two sections of Centro Gran Caribe. This bridge is one with glass walls, which has several kiosks and arcade machines.
The south side of Centro Gran Caribe is anchored by Big Kmart and Dólar y Algo Extra (a local bairgain store) and has around 40 stores and "El Palmar" food court. A 7 screen Caribbean Cinemas is located next the food court.
In total, Centro Gran Caribe has around 420,000 square feet of retail space, a modern arquitecture with high ceilings and skylights, more than 2,000 parking spaces and 24 hour security service.
