Christian Guitar Resource

Christian Guitar Resources (often abbreviated CGR) is a website for Christian music fans, Christian guitarists, and Christian bassists. According to the home page of the site, as of December 30, 2009 the site contains 14,500 tabs which have been viewed 69,000,000 times.
Leadership
CGR was started by Mickey Mellon in 2001 at christianguitar.ws. The site was later moved to its current location at www.christianguitar.org. The site has since been sold twice, and current website owner is Paul Kim. In between, there were some others, in a period known as the Dark Years. The current administrative team also includes BSPE, Art the Marvelous, the lovely MtlMom, Skeeter the People’s Supermoderator, Mr. “Evil” Role Modlin, Gustin Who Is Not A Dinosaur, and Jon.
Tabs
Tabs are the largest draw for new users, but beyond that, are largely ignored.
Cheap Post Forum
The Cheap Post Forum, known as CPF, is dedicated to posts that are not expensive and not intelligible. Spelling is optional, and grammar is not encouraged. Notable members include Matthew “mattslope” Sloan, who is not to be taken lightly or seriously; RubberChipmunk, who is neither rubber nor a chipmunk; Sean.Thomson, who has a luscious beard; Phone Books, who has your number; and Sunkist, who sounds like butterfly’s wings slashing through the gentle breeze. CPF was the beginnings of the Ernstian revolution, in which the Great Prophet Ernst declared that “all people has to be feeded (nobody can starving to death)”. The Moderator’s Forum has also been dubbed CPF With A VIP List.
General Discussion
General Discussion or "GD" was created to be (and is still officially recognized as) the place for threads that don't really belong anywhere else. According to BSPE "for a moment in time, the GD forum served a purpose and it was bringing the funny". Mattslope declared war on GD during the summer of '09. However, due to a long stalemate the fight has been, more or less, forgotten. GD's current purpose appears to be a place for people to raise their post counts without significant effort as well as being the hotspot for the majority of spam attacks.
Fests
The most influential members of CGR frequently gather for Fests. Some of the most notable Fests have included gatherings in Texas, California , Ohio and Washington state. Magical things have been witnessed at Fests, including the Earth’s Crack, squirrel minions and marshmallow bushes.
Music
CGR members are often quite dedicated to the website, and have been known to compose multiple songs in honor of the site or other members. Many CGR members also have their own bands, and upload their music to the site. Most notably, that one guy from that one band that had their song in that battery commercial used to be on CGR.
