Chris Barty

Chris Barty is a current member of the Australian Paralympic Football Team the Pararoos. He plays as a goalkeeper.
A former promising Wheelchair Basketball player having represented Australia and the University of Arizona, Barty made the seemingly inconceivable switch to football in 2011. He was a member of the Victorian team that won bronze and was given the honor of captaining the team for one match. Barty was the inaugural winner of the David Cantoni medal for most outstanding Western Australian Footballer with a disability. He currently plays for club side Joondana Blues. In 2012, Barty led the Western Australian Paralympic Football Team to its first national championships, and was named goalkeeper of the tournament.
Barty made his international debut on 1 April 2012, at the 2012 AFC Dream Asia Cerebral Palsy Tournament in Abu Dhabi, and has since competed at tournaments in the Ukraine and Spain.
