Chips-Funga, this term emanates from the East African country of Kenya and is popular with the residents of its capital city Nairobi to mean a one night stand. The term is combination of two words "Chips" and "Funga". Chips is the locally popular world for French Fries while funga is a swahili word to mean wrap or close. Within Nairobi and Kenya at large there is a common practice to buy "chips" (French Fries) after a night out in the various clubs. When one orders chips at that time they normally say chips funga i.e. take away fries. This term is therefore also used to refer to the act of picking up girls from clubs to take home. The term is used in informal conversation and is common slang in the capital and environs but has however spread around the world but is currently only popular with Kenyans in the diaspora.
