Chily

Charry Masengo (born 1999), best known as Chily, is a French rapper of Congolese origin. He is best known for his 2018 release of his single "Pernambucano", followed by first album "5ème Chambre (Très mystique)" released in 2020.
In August 2019, he was kept under arrest for assaulting two police officers and was sentenced to two years in prison. He later escaped from the prison.
Biography
Early life
Born in 1999, Chily was heavily interested in music from a young age, specifically . Congolese artists like Werrason, Koffi Olomide, Ferre Gola or King Kester Emeneya, were artists he listened to most. He started his musical journey in the late 2000s with his cousins after being a founding member of the group 5ème Chambre. He is inspired by Congolese animator Bébé Kérozene.
Adult life
Musical career
Mid 2010s, Chily started uploading freestyles to YouTube and Dailymotion. His series Complètement Rébanav , became popular around Europe and France. Then, in 2018, he released his first hit Pernambucano , included in his first album En attendant... . Summer of 2019, was when Chily was internationally famous after the release of the singles Bina and San Pellegrino . His first concert will be in the Casino de Paris in 2020, after the release of his second album 5ème chambre (Très mystique) . He claims that his music is not simply trap, but is Bikini Bottom music.
Legal issues
In August 2019, Chily was arrested after assaulting two police officers with a friend. He was sentenced to two years in prison.<ref name=":0" />.
