Casualties Of Cool

Casualties of Cool is the upcoming studio album by the Canadian musician Devin Townsend. It will feature Ché Aimee Dorval on most of the lead vocals and Morgan Ågren on drums. Devin describes the album as "dark, quiet, stony, and odd. Sort of Johnny Cash in outerspace... Made to create a mood late late at night. Comfortably creepy." He has also stated that it will be a lot darker than Ghost, closer to the darkness of Ki and "it's...like, folk and sorta country."
In April, 2013, Devin announced that "Casualties 80% done, and that'll be the next thing I hope..." In June, 2013, Devin announced "So Casualties is one solid month from being 'put to bed' ...as a result of it's nature presenting itself recently, I am now cleared for Z2!"
Plans for a fully animated counterpart with "a really creepy story" have also been announced. It will be animated by South African stop-motion animator Jess Cope, who also created Steven Wilson's The Raven That Refused To Sing music video, and Storm Corrosion's Drag Ropes music video.
A bonus disc containing "Ghost 2 stuff" may be included with the special edition of the album.
