Cassendre Xavier

Cassendre Xavier a.k.a. Amethyste Rah (born in Brooklyn, New York on February 7, 1969) is a first generation American singer, songwriter, musician, and recording artist. She is known for her well-crafted soulful, bluesy pop songs, adept guitar playing, and sweetly sultry, comforting voice. Her songs feature catchy hooks and revealing, soothing, inspiring, and romantic lyrics. Xavier is a prolific recording artist (see discography below) of Haitian and Han Chinese heritage. She also records spoken word guided meditation CDs and downloads for relaxation, healing, and self-actualization. These albums feature (used with permission).

Xavier has also been a published multi-genre writer, a visual artist, actor, and community arts organizer. She is founder of Philadelphia's annual Black Women's Arts Festival, which debuted in 2003.
