The Mathematicians

The Mathematicians is a band from the Tri-County Region of Upstate New York. Formed in the summer of 2003, the band is comprised of three members: Albert Gorithm IV (drums, laptop, vocals), Dewi Decimal (keyboard, guitar, vocals) and Pete Pythagoras (mc, bass, vocals). Their music is trans-genre dance music employing live visual projections and midi-controlled lighting.
The band is primarily known for their live performances and has an intense tour schedule. The Mathematicians have been on eleven national tours playing over 500 shows in the past five years and have released two albums. Their first album is called Level I and the second is Level II.
In 2009 the band released a feature length movie on DVD, called "The Mathematician's Transdimensional Odyssey of Doom". This project was a partnership with Muckraker Films and Cinematic Weapons of Mass Creation combining footage from over 100 shows with 12 minutes of anime. In 2009 Park City Film Music Festival awarded the film a Gold Medal for Excellence in the multi-genre category.
The Mathematicians are featured in a documentary about the 2009 Valley of the Vapors Music Festival.
