Carnival of illusion

Based in Tucson, Arizona, Carnival of Illusion is a theatrical act comprised of husband and wife, Roland Sarlot and Susan Eyed. They started performing magic together full-time in 2002 and created the show Carnival of Illusion in 2009. Carnival of Illusion is best known for intimate and up-close magic done in a vaudeville-inspired parlor setting. The team of Roland and Susan is unique in that they are both magicians in their own right. It is estimated that only somewhere between 3 to 8 percent of magicians in the United States are female. Carnival of Illusion started with shows in Tucson, Arizona at the Hilton Doubletree Hotel with a seasonal weekly show. In 2012, the parlor show expanded to include shows at the historic Arizona Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix, Arizona. In 2013, they opened their third location at the historic ASU Kerr Cultural Center (a division of Arizona State University Gammage) in Scottsdale, Arizona. Roland and Susan are noted for creating characters and story within the performance for a "distinctive performance style”.
In the early days of their careers, Roland and Susan entertained for active-adult resort communities and were also house entertainers at top spas Canyon Ranch and Miraval in Arizona. Carnival of Illusion currently specializes in corporate groups and special events, both in Arizona and around the country. They have logged over 250 parlor shows together, and over 1,000 shows overall. Roland and Susan were granted “Featured Performer” status at the Magic Castle in Hollywood California, having performed there in 2010 and again in 2013. Carnival of Illusion also were featured performers at the 2012 Society of American Magicians National Convention in Las Vegas, promoting the new trend of “Magic-themed theaters”.They are head performers at the Texas Association of Magicians Convention in 2014, in Fort Worth Texas.
