BuzcastTV - The Social Television Network
|
Summary BuzcastTV is a website that is run under a company called Buz.FM. Much like YouTube, Vimeo, and other video sharing/viewing sites, BuzcastTV is for watching videos. The way in which a user views them is different from most video sites (more details under 'Layout'). The website is classified as a "Social Broadcast Network" or "Social Television Network", as it allows its users to view and personalize various video channels, watch content, and then share and talk about it via Twitter or Facebook if the user so chooses. Buz.FM Inc. BuzcastTV is run under a father company, Buz.FM. This is an enterprise web application development company. They're mission is to provide solutions for Internet Broadcast, Social Media, and Marketing technologies. This is where BuzcastTV fits in. According to Pinnacle Professional Group, partnered in business, BuzcastTV ensures a client's (usually an entertainment company: Disney, Warner Bros, etc.) digital media is marketed as "fresh, relevant, and branded". Buz.FM was launched in 2011. It is said to use a patent pending frequency marketing (FM) technology. How this frequency marketing technology works is a mystery. Founded by Stephen Sadler, the current CEO and President, Buz.FM is based in the USA. The company occupies a 7,200 square foot building in Orion, Michigan. Layout Homepage The homepage of BuzcastTV (buzcast.com) has a large banner at the top that will show a channel or feature of the website along with a button/link to navigate a user to said channel or feature. The banner changes every few seconds or so in order to show a handful of different things. Under the large banner at the top, there are lists of channels that a user can access. These are split up into categories such as "Popular Channels", "Featured Channels", "Sports", "Kids", etc. These are most likely displayed on the homepage because these categories are the most popular. A line of thumbnails are placed right below the title of the category. These thumbnails have the name of a channel and a corresponding image. The thumbnails act as links to the specific channel when a user clicks on them. There is also a "show more" button that will expand the single line of channel thumbnails into a larger list of channels by adding a few more rows to the list. (See images for clarification)
