Buffalo Picture House is a New York City-based independent film production company founded by Filmmakers Gabrielle Nadig, Felix Thompson, Brandon Roots, Paul Penczner, Erica Tachoir, and Matthew Troy in 2010. The company has produced a number of short narrative films including “Bedford Park Boulevard” and “The Third One This Week” that have gone on to play at notable film festivals including Tribeca, SXSW, BFI London Film Festival, Vancouver International Film Festival and Cergy-Pontoise Film Festival. Viral Success In August 2011, a short film created by Buffalo members Felix Thompson and Brandon Roots documenting their Manhattan neighborhood during Hurricane Irene went viral after being featured on New York City centric blog Gawker. Commercial Success In April 2012, a commercial project produced by Buffalo Picture House and Esparza Advertising for MADD was featured on . The spots took a different tack to alcohol education by emphasizing how drinking to excess makes you lose control. “Shot with shaky camerawork and in the semi dark, the spots are a bit disconcerting, especially when they black out and you can’t see what happens after the films end”.
