Bob Rupe

Bob Rupe, is an American musician who was co-founder of the New York City-based indie band The Silos, where he was lead guitarist, writer and producer from 1985-1991. Rupe was also a member of Gutterball in 1992 and bassist for Cracker from 1994-2000. Rupe appeared on several independent and major label recordings between 1985 and 2012, including Garrison Starr "Eighteen Over Me", Daniel Johnston "Hello How Are you?", House of Freaks "Cakewalk", Sparklehorse, Freedy Johnston "Can You Fly", Steve Wynn, Danny and Dusty "Cast Iron Soul" and Gutterball. Rupe began his career in Florida, where he attended Northeast High School of Broward County, and played guitar for a Fort Lauderdale-based band called The Bobs before joining Walter Salas-Humara to form The Silos. Currently he is a producer and engineer in Virginia. Production credits include The Silos, The Psycho Daisies, Louis Ledford, Clint Maul, Fairlane, Horsehead and The Dragstrip Syndicate. |
