History
In early 2007 Mike Blackwell started The Blue Collar Wrestling Alliance. The first event, titled Summer Stand-Off, took place on August 5th, 2007 in Lincoln Park, Michigan at the Lil Easy bar and grill. In October of 2007 Blackwell signed an lease agreement with the Tri-City Trade Center in Detroit, Michigan. Detroit became the home for the Blue Collar Wrestling Alliance until early 2010 when BCWA moved to a concert hall named the Modern Exchange in Southgate, Michigan.
BCWA Events
In late 2007 The Blue Collar Wrestling Alliance launched a weekly 2 hour wrestling event titled Frontline The weekly show provides the hardworking blue collar families in the downriver area, with entertainment they cannot find anywhere else. With over 100 Frontlines in the books, the show, BCWA fans, and the Blue Collar Wrestling Alliance continue to grow.
While Frontline is the featured show every week, the culmination leads to a supershow, with Cataclysm being the grandest of them all. Every year BCWA ends it with a weekend award ceremony and Catalcysm "The biggest show of the year." Other Supershows include, Ignition, Outlawed, No Escape, Tri-Town Rumble, State Of Emergency, Drastic Measures, Summer Stand-Off, Breakthough, and Last Rites. Past shows included Boiling Point, Undisputed, and Salvation. Easter Egg-stravaganza serves as the name of the annual Easter Sunday show.
BCWA has also produced a weekly Saturday show called Saturday Night Slam. Saturday Night Slam ran from August of 2008 to February 2009. Since February Saturday Night Slam has become more of a special, bonus, attraction show, held throughout the year. In the winter of 2010 BCWA plans on revamping Saturday Night Slam.
