Birds Portchmouth Russum Architects

Birds Portchmouth Russum, (established 1989) are a practise of British architects.

Andrew Birds, Richard Portchmouth and Mike Russum left the practise of James Stirling
in 1989 to establish BPR. Significant projects since then include the Chichester Car Park (completed 1991), which brought the practise a number of RIBA awards, and the Plashet Footbridge in North London (2000).

The practice is respected as one of a few genuinely innovative practises in London producing built work, and produce exquisite hand drawn images. The drawings for fantastical schemes for a new Croydon masterplan (1999)and Morecambe's seafront (1991) have become iconic images of the post-Archigram avant-garde within British Architecture and have been widely exhibited and published.
