BillSaveUK Limited is an energy saving measures and installation company based in Leicester, UK. It was formed in October 2015 following a management buy out of the Mark Group. The demise of the Mark Group was largely attributed to changes in government policy towards domestic photovoltaic generation (Solar energy) which led to a near overnight cut in feed in tariffs available. 1000 jobs were lost when the group's US owners, SunEdison, withdrew support after 4 months ownership. Despite the declining opportunity in the small scale generation solar panel market, the Mark Group's participation in the commercial and domestic insulation market remained commercially viable, leading to 4 Mark Group directors instigating a management buy out of these elements in October 2015 and creating a new business, BillSaveUK and securing over 200 jobs. In 2016, BillSaveUK received a £3m injection of funds from Bibby Financial Services. It has since grown to over 300 employees based in multiple locations across the UK, including Beaumont Leys, Leicester,. Wednesbury, Briston, Rearsby and Thetford. In addition, they have over 40 field based Energy Saving Assessors who visit customers' homes to assess their viability for energy saving measures. Participation in the Energy Company Obligation BillSaveUK work in conjunction with many of the 'Big 6' UK energy suppliers under the Energy Company Obligation that provides free home insulation grants or discounted energy saving measures for people who receive a variety of state benefits, or if their property qualified under certain criteria such as size or heating method.
