Bazlur Rahman Lasker

Bazlur Rahman Lasker born 17 November 1922 was a valiant freedom fighter and was one of the person who helped create the first national flag of Bangladesh. He donated the cloth of flag as well as tailored it from his Apollo Tailors at Government New Market which is designed by Student Leaders of Shawdhin Bangla Nucleus painter, Shib Narayan Das and was hoisted by Vice President of Dhaka University Students' Union (DUCSU), student leader of the time A. S. M. Abdur Rab on 2 March 1971 at the historic location bart-twala.
Bazlur Rahman Lasker Scholarship
Through out his life time he had provided economic support to under privileged families from his native Munshiganj as well as Dhaka. After his death
Bazlur Rahman Lasker Scholarship was setup by the B.R.Lasker Sriti Shongshod which is a non-profit, non-political, scholarship that provides economic support for eduction of children from under privileged families of rural Bangladesh.
